THRIFTY THURSDAY: free photo package for new baby

When you're a new parent, you deserve some free stuff to make up for the exhaustion.  Olan Mills offers a New Baby Package for babies up to 3 months old.  I love this because you get a great assortment of wallets to mail in thank-you cards, an 8x10 to frame, etc.  We've had pictures made at Olan Mills many times and were always impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the photographers.  I only do the package deal each time and they never make me feel pressured to purchase more than I want.

While you're there, you might want to check out the Watch Me Grow special.  You get a year's worth of monthly portraits plus a discount on any packages you purchase on top of the free one.  I did this with both of my kids and, although we didn't go every month, the discount we got on the ones we did take was well worth the yearly plan fee.  At our studio we were also able to transfer the monthly appointment to a friend or family member if we weren't going to use it.  It was a great deal and I'm so glad I took the time to have my kids' portraits made while they were still little.

Free McDonald's goodies coupons!

I posted this before but for those of you who missed it, make sure you get your coupons while they are still available!  Through Recyclebank you can get coupons for free salad, oatmeal, cone, and/or smoothies for only 100 points.  You can easily earn this by doing a few activities.  I suggest the Green Your Vacation activities because they are really quick & you can earn at least 45 points on just one of the four vacay options. 
I received our coupons in the mail this week and was pleased to see that they expire in January 2012.  I plan to grab a few more since we can always use a nice treat on these hot summer days!

Getting to sample Dr. Scholl's for Her High Heel Insoles

I am super excited, I just got an invitation to try the Dr. Scholl's for Her High Heel Insoles from BzzAgent!  As a Bzz Agent, I am going to receive samples of this product as well as coupons for it.   Then I will submit feedback about my experience with the product and will also report who/when I shared the news about the product with.  I'm a teacher and am on my feet all day long, so I am really looking forward to trying these out.  I can see myself buying a pair for every pair of shoes I own!

I took a few minutes to familiarize myself with the Dr. Scholl's website and Facebook page.  I thought this Fabulitis Quiz was cute.  As I predicted, it said I was at high risk for Fabulitis.  But the good news is that CVS has a special deal on the insoles through 7/30/11, so there is a cure!  :)   And there's a $2 printable coupon for them right now.  If you decide to try the insoles, I'd love to hear what you think of them!

If you enjoy Driscoll's berries, even if only once in a while, consider joining the Driscoll's consumer panel.  You will receive coupons toward your purchases and when you complete a survey, they will often send you a coupon as a thank-you gift.  The surveys take less than 3 minutes to complete.  This week at Ingle's they have Driscoll's strawberries for $2.50 a package.  After my $1.00 coupons, it was only $1.50 per package!  My kids really enjoy their berries and I enjoy serving them quality fruit.
